Manufacturing such innovative, high-precision components demands equally precise production processes, making accurate offline tool measurement an essential part of FeTu's manufacturing workflow.
Challenge
As component sizes increased, FeTu encountered a common machining challenge. Large workpieces mounted on the machine often obscured the spindle probe, making it difficult to measure and set tools on the machine itself.
The team needed a solution that would standardise tool setting, maximise machine uptime and simplify the measurement of specialist tooling, including boring tools, while reducing the time spent rebuilding tool assemblies.
